To communicate its economic, social, societal and environmental performance, SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT uses a reporting tool that follows Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines. This body, jointly created in 1997 by the US non-governmental organisation CERES (Coalition for Environmentally Responsible Economies) and UNEP (United Nations Environmental Programme), has defined pertinent criteria to allow companies to prepare their sustainable development reports transparently and accurately.
As part of this, the “Commitments & Performance” report, published by SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT in 2010, was checked by the GRI and rated B+. This publication aims to inform all of the Group’s stakeholders about the progress accomplished in terms of its 12 commitments on sustainable development. It explains the challenges and provides quantified data.
SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT is regularly evaluated by non-financial rating agencies. To do so, the agencies use publicly available information (official publications, information issued by stakeholders, etc.) and the Group’s responses to their questionnaires.
