“Sustainable development is a strategic part of our business.” – Angel Simón, Chief Executive Officer of Agbar

The Spanish subsidiary of SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT has structured its sustainable development strategy around a 2012-2016 action plan that fully integrates its stakeholders and combines specific objectives with key progress indicators. Among these objectives is the continuous improvement of the quality of services offered to customers in connection with their own Sustainable Development Policies. Equally important themes include meeting the new expectations of local authorities through improvements in the information provided on the company’s contractual activity, developing sustainable practices with suppliers, strengthening public involvement to improve the living conditions of local communities, increasing workplace safety, and developing the company’s human capital. Agbar has obtained the maximum A+ rating from the non-financial rating agency GRI (Global Reporting Initiative), and is listed among Silver Class companies in the Sustainability Yearbook 2014 issued by the rating agency RobecoSAM.
