Biography

Valérie Bernis, born 9 December, 1958, French, has a degree from Institut Supérieur de Gestion and Université des Sciences Economiques in Limoges. Mrs Bernis has been a member of the Office of the French Minister of Economics, Finance and Privatisation (1986-88), and Press and Communication Officer for the French Prime Minister (1993-95). Then Executive Vice-President of the SUEZ Group, in charge of Communication, Financial Communications and Sustainable Development and member of the Executive Committee of SUEZ, Mrs Bernis has been a member of the Executive Committee of GDF SUEZ since July 22, 2008, in charge of Communication, Financial Communication and Public Affairs. The President of GDF SUEZ also selected Valérie Bernis to evaluate women’s status at work and to develop a plan of action.
