Biography

Lorenz d’Este, born 16 December, 1955, Belgian. After studying at Université of Saint-Gall in Switzerland, Mr D’Este obtained a Master’s degree in economic sciences and politics from the University of Innsbruck, Austria. Mr d’Este joined the Swiss bank E. Gutzwiller & Cie in 1983. First banking executive, then senior manager, he has been Managing Partner of E. Gutzwiller & Cie, Banquiers since 1990. He has also served as advisor to the Executive Management Committee of BNP Paribas since 1999 and as a Director of SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT and a Director of Union Chimique Belge (UCB) since 2001.
