Save resources and encourage a circular economy

Save resources and encourage a circular economy

l'économie circulaire

Today’s economic model is based on the unlimited use of our natural resources, as if they were finite. However, they are becoming increasingly scarce, increasingly expensive and we are in danger of adding to pollution by exploiting ever more resources.

In an effort to fight against the overexploitation of natural resources, SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT develops and puts into practice solutions which approach resource management rationally.

This enables it to make gradual shift:

  • from a linear economy, which depletes resources and produces waste without controlling  flow rates or the release of pollutants,
  • to a circular economy which advocates instead controlling each flow so that it replicates the almost cyclical functionality of ecosystems.

Thus, the circular economy reduces resources that otherwise go to waste and enables a different kind of growth, one which is more environmentally responsible.

Using this framework, SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT is committed to:

  • optimising the recycling and reprocessing rates of waste,
  • increasing the technical efficiency of the water supply networks.
