Imperial College London (UK) Royal Academy Chair in Waste Management
Within the framework of the SITA Trust, an independent organisation which finances projects in sustainable waste management, SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT sponsors, in partnership with the Royal Academy of Engineering, the SITA UK / Royal Academy Chair in Waste Management at Imperial College.
Founded in 2005, the position was established to create momentum for an academic 'centre of excellence' in waste management research in the UK and hopefully abroad. The current chair holder is Professor Sue Grimes.
Rated the world's fifth best university in the 2007 THES World University Rankings, Imperial College London is a science-oriented institution with a reputation for excellence in teaching and research.
