SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT is a partner in community development. Its employment policy seeks to reduce poverty and promote a lasting integration of socially disadvantaged groups.

SITA Rebond: encouraging the professional integration of people living in precarious situations

SITA France set up SITA Rebond in 2002 to integrate the long-term unemployed, as well as welfare recipients and inner-city youths. SITA Rebond relies on a solid network of industrial and institutional partners (local authorities, government departments, etc.) to train employees and enhance their stability. It provides individual support for vocational training, lodging, healthcare and assistance to the highly indebted.

Successful integration through work-based learning

SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT’s involvement is complemented by the use of work-based learning systems. This policy allows us to respond to the need for solidarity and facilitate the training and recruitment of young people. It favours local recruitment from employment pools in areas where SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT is active.

Work-based schemes have been carried out by Lyonnaise des Eaux since 2007. The company has designed training programs that later gave rise to the Group’s workbased learning policy. The concept hinges on pre-recruitment and integration of youths that have fallen out of the educational system. Lyonnaise des Eaux has determined that 6% of its workforce will consist of people issuing out of apprenticeships or vocational training.

Every year, SITA France launches a work-based learning recruitment campaign for the positions of assistant operator, sales representative and driver.

  • In 2007, 150 people were recruited in this way.
  • In 2008, 250 of this type of jobs will be available.
