Social dialogue at the local level

SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT has developed a social dialogue at the local level to take into account the variety of national and professional contexts in which it conducts its business activities.

Social relations, including negotiations with staff representatives and trade unions, are managed by each subsidiary. Social welfare schemes are also managed separately.

In order to ensure the co-ordination and application of common principles, Human Resources managers and managers of employment affairs have regular discussions through network meetings.

Moreover, as part of its sustainable development strategy, SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT regularly measures the commitment and satisfaction of its employees through surveys. All employees can express their opinion on professional development, corporate strategy, training and management relations.

Effective social dialogue

SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT is committed to effective social dialogue by:

  • providing relevant information about the Company’s economic, financial and employment situation, as well as its development prospects,
  • supporting and facilitating access to representative positions,
  • improving employment policies through the widespread use of agreements negotiated with trade union organisations,
  • enabling employee shareholding.

Support for the GDF SUEZ Group’s social dynamics

SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT, consolidated in GDF SUEZ, fully subscribes to agreements and charters signed at Group level, including the international social charter, the agreement on the employment and expertise plan and the agreement on the promotion of equality and diversity within the Company.

Firmly committed to these major social ambitions, SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT aims to adapt the application of this approach to specificities at the local level .
