Diversity

Diversity

Employment policies at SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT are based on the principles of equal opportunity and anti-discrimination. The company is committed to equal access to careers and professional development. Our objective is to reflect the emerging diversity of the countries in which we operate. This diversity policy includes the following points:

 People with disabilities
SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT does not discriminate against people who are ill or victims of workplace accidents. For example, Lyonnaise des Eaux has signed a memorandum of understanding to promote the employment of workers with disabilities. At Degrémont, a joint partnership with NGOs has resulted in the hiring of more people with disabilities at its engineering and design departments. At SITA France, a disability survey was done leading to the redeployment of 25 employees by end-2008.

Fighting workplace discrimination

Diversity also means fighting workplace discrimination. Each time it opens a new site, SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT supports the professional integration of people living in precarious conditions via local action plans. In France, this integration policy is carried out together with the National Employment Agency and the National Council of Local Missions (CNML).

Gender equality

Today, 23% of management positions are held by women and we are making every effort to improve this figure.
