Career management

SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT recruited 12,000 employees in 2006 and 15,000 in 2007, including 5,000 in France.

Mobility

SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT is present in more than 70 countries and offers career opportunities across the world.

All the subsidiaries work toward creating a pool of in-house job applicants according to skills, career paths, training and potential.

Training

SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT is strongly committed to training. This has been helpful in consolidating know-how and personal development.

In the water sector, United Water has started an ambitious training programme in the United States for all those who have a management role. The programme, “Front Line Leadership”, consists of training courses, 70% of which relate to inter-personal skills and 30% to know-how. In 2006, this programme was offered to union representatives, who have thus benefited from the same training as managers.

In Casablanca, Lydec provides more than 80,000 hours of training to its employees each year and is supported by an operational training centre, as well as pilot facilities (training bases, for example).

SITA France places special stress on training and skills development. It relies on a comprehensive program enabling its workforce to transfer skills from one business unit to another. Via its ‘Trajectoire’ [Trajectory] scheme for operators, more than 520 employees have been trained since 2001. Training lasted on average 15-25 days and is spread out over 6-8 months. Other schemes such as ‘Universita 2’ directed at managers or sales reps are also offered.
