Waste classification
Waste products differ according to their type and source: household, industry, hospitals, agriculture etc.
By classifying them, waste products can be designated so that the various partners concerned with the production and disposal of waste speak a common language within the European Union.
This classification is defined in a single list drawn up by the Commission (2001/573/CE), recently revised to integrate new hazardous waste products: out of old cars, wood containing hazardous substances, solid waste from the decontamination of soil containing hazardous substances, building materials containing asbestos…
